Douglas County United Way

How Much of a Difference Can You Make? Every gift – no matter the size – counts.

Mike Amberg introduced Corliss Stark, United Way of Douglas/Pope Counties.

Corliss stressed the importance of the United Way program. Giving to United Way is the MOST EFFECTIVE way to help the whole community. Hunger is the #1 issue in our community.

Information Corliss shared with us: monthly food drop has provided food for 8600 individuals; approximately 25,000 books given through the Dolly Parton Library program; 169 children provided milk in kindergarten; over 600 backpacks with supplies were given to children through the Stuff the Bus; over 1100 winter coats were distributed this past year; plus hungry children in Douglas-Pope counties received 4,600 bags of food through the Backpack Attack; and a housing initiative has been developed to assist

individuals who are homeless! Everyone counts, whether you GIVE, ADVOCATE or VOLUNTEER!
